Create a consumer tool to select a plan on the health insurance exchange marketplace based on prescription cost and coverage.

Using multiple data-sets containing formularies, pharmacy networks, and pricing data, a tool is possible to allow consumers to perform a more effective cost and benefits analysis based on available plans while considering their current medication regimen as well as further inform patients on drug value and effectiveness.

The challenge is organized into two phases with the goal of producing a mobile or web application for average consumers.

Phase I: “Blueprint Stage”                    Phase II: “Delivery Stage”

  • The goal of Phase II is to create a fully functional and installed application with the ability to demonstrate effectiveness and financial benefit to its users.

  • The goal of Phase I is to create a compelling strategy. While a submission does not require a functioning product, it should be a blueprint for potentially scalable and sustainable solution to the problem outlined above.
